The biggest difference between disposable cameras and their digital counterparts is the quality. Disposable cameras use cheap parts and low-quality film. The end result is pictures that look flat, blurry and, well they look like they were taken by a disposable camera. High-end digital cameras, like ours, use high-quality components, resulting in sharp, crisp and clear pictures in the most difficult of settings. Disposable cameras are designed to take pictures under a certain set of conditions, outdoor/indoor or high-light/low-light, don't be fooled by "multipurpose" disposable cameras, all that means is that they can take mediocre photos in most conditions. In contrast, digital cameras have multiple modes which allows you to use the same digital camera to take beautiful and properly exposed photos in all kinds of conditions. On top of that digital cameras perform a variety of optimizations on your pictures to correct for color balance, brightness, and contrast. Remember this is your special day, these are the photos you will share with your family & friends for years to come, make sure those photos capture all the color and excitement of the moment.

Cost

At first glance disposable cameras seem like a bargain, but don’t be fooled! When take into account the costs of developing the photos, and how many of those photos end up over/under exposed, blurry or just plain bad shots, disposable cameras are actually more expensive!

Disposable Cameras fotocera Digital Cameras
Cameras for 100 guests 24 ?Each camera only holds about 25 photos, so you'll want at LEAST two cameras per table of 8 people, even then each person can only take 6 photos. 12 ?Each camera can hold thousands of photos, so one per table of 8 is more then enough.
Cost per camera $5.00 $27.50
Total camera cost $168.00 $330.00
Cost of developing/printing the photos $7.00 per
camera ?You have to develop all the photos, even though many of them (in our experience about 2/3) will be under/over exposed, blurry or just a bad shot.
$0.15 per
photo ?You can review all the photos before and only print the ones you love.
Total cost of developing/printing the photos $168.00 $90.00 ?Since each of our digital cameras can hold thousands of photos you will have many more photos to choose from than with disposable cameras. However, to keep things comparable let's assume that you will print the same number of photos as with disposable cameras.
Total cost $336.00 $420.00
Total number of good photos 300 out of 600 ?With disposable cameras you have to develop all the photos because you can't preview them beforehand. In our experience people only keep about 1/3 of the photos they develop from disposable cameras, but just to be conservative let's say that half of the photos come out ok. 600 out of 600 ?Remember that since each camera holds over a thousands photos you will have plenty of shots to choose from, so you will only print the photos you like
Cost per photo $1.12 $0.70 ?With fotocera digital cameras you only print the photos you want, thus you don't have to waste money developing and printing ruined shots. Plus don't forget you get superior quality and digital flexibility that you just can't get with traditional disposable cameras.

So in the end, although your total cost is slightly higher, your cost per photo is actually much lower with fotocera digital cameras. And don't forget that with fotocera you get superior quality, greater flexibility, and HD video... you get none of this with disposable cameras. With digital photos you can share them on social networking sites such as facebook (we'll even upload them for you), email them to friends, use them as you desktop wallpaper, the list goes on and on.

Environmental Impact

Here at fotocera we are committed to doing our part to eliminate the harmful impact of disposable cameras on our environment. Disposable cameras pose numerous dangers to the environment. To begin with, the film they use contains many harmful chemicals and the batteries are extremely toxic. Furthermore, since the camera is disposable all the paper and plastic that is used to make the camera becomes waste. Digital cameras suffer from none of these environmental downfalls - we even use rechargeable batteries in our cameras! By having all of your pictures hosted on your own webpage and by using digital cameras you drastically cut down on unwanted and excess paper, chemical and film use that would occur with disposables. In addition, as company policy, we reuse and recycle our boxes and packing materials to minimize our impact on our environment!

Storage

This is a pretty simple, but it's worth pointing out. A disposable camera can take AT MOST 32 photos. With a disposable, your guests are going to be very selective with the pictures they take, leaving you with a lot of half empty rolls of film and many missed moments. With our digital cameras you are able to take AT LEAST 1000+ pictures on each camera since each includes 4GB storage cards. That means that your guests don't have to think twice about taking a picture! When it comes to preserving memories of your special event our motto is "shoot now, decide later."

Picture Preview

If your have ever used a traditional film camera before, no doubt this has happened to you. You take a great photo, the kind of photo that is going to be page one of the photo album, but when you take your film to be developed it turns out that the photo was underexposed, or the camera strap is in the middle of the shot, or its blurry, etc. With disposable cameras, this danger is even greater due to the low quality optics and film they use. However, with digital cameras this never has to happen. When you are taking the shot you see a live preview of exactly what you are shooting at, and after the picture is taken you can see EXACTLY what the photo will look like when it’s printed out. That means that if that camera strap did somehow get in the way, you know it and can simply take another shot!

Digital Flexibility

With digital cameras you have much more flexibility with what you can do with all your great photos. You can put them on t-shirts, make calendars, order photo enlargements, make professional-looking photo albums, share them with your friends over the internet, the list goes on and on. With disposable cameras all those things are much more difficult if not impossible. Just think about the headache you would have if you wanted to share all your great photos with your friends. Making prints for everyone would cost an arm and a leg, and they only way you could post them up online is to scan them all in.
